May 20 marked the 27th World Metrology Day. On the same day, the Fujian Main Venue Event for World Metrology Day, themed “Building a Foundation with Metrology, Empowering Development,” was held in Fuzhou. The event showcased innovative achievements and practical cases demonstrating how metrology contributes to high-quality economic and social development.

During the event, the Fujian Administration for Market Regulation released the “Ten Initiatives for Metrology Services to Support Economic and Social Development” and the “Ten Outstanding Cases of Metrology Services for High-Quality Economic and Social Development in Fujian.” Covering areas such as technological innovation, energy conservation and carbon reduction, and public services, these initiatives and cases highlighted the important role of metrology in driving industrial upgrading and supporting green development.

During the signing ceremony, Fujian Heqichang Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd., the National Carbon Metrology Center (Fujian), the Nanping Carbon Metrology Center, and the Fujian Carbon Metrology Center (Electric Power) jointly signed the “Cooperation Agreement on Empowering Green Development of the Bamboo Industry Through Carbon Metrology.”

The cooperation marks an important step toward implementing China’s national strategies for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Based on the principle of “joint development and complementary strengths,” the four parties will leverage Heqichang’s advantages as a leading bamboo industry enterprise in industrial resources, production applications, technological R&D, and market implementation, while drawing on the partners’ expertise in carbon metrology research, carbon and electricity testing and analysis, and the application of green and low-carbon technologies.

The parties will carry out long-term and in-depth cooperation in areas including low-carbon technological innovation, low-carbon management system development, the application and commercialization of low-carbon achievements, and professional talent development.

Looking ahead, Heqichang will continue to deepen green manufacturing and technological innovation, actively promote the application of carbon metrology technologies in the bamboo industry, and explore replicable and scalable models for green and low-carbon development. Through these efforts, Heqichang will contribute to the transformation and upgrading of Fujian’s bamboo industry and the achievement of China’s “Dual Carbon” goals.
